Our Public Health petition made an impact on H&F Council
Masts and antennae have sprung up like
mushrooms after rain. Even before the more drastic 5G technology gets
seriously established, readings of mast radiation (EMF emissions) are
worryingly high. We have been called by residents experiencing symptoms
consistent with exposure.
Ideally when we first got going (2019/20), we
would call for an immediate halt to 5G in LBHF, but we were dependent upon further
information on the legal side. So we set up a petition
for H&F Council to educate the
public on the dangers of unsafe wireless technologies such as 5G, which
would be a big step towards this. Before the petition, correspondence with H&F
Council and local MPs showed reliance on out-of-date, inadequate advice
from Public Health England that such technologies are ‘safe’. It essentially only
took into account lesser heating effects. The petition was a big success. It soon reached the
required number of signatures for H&F Council to make a formal response. Thanks to all who helped raise
signatures. The Cabinet Member
for Health (Cllr Ben Coleman, Fulham Broadway Ward) did make a public
response, but it fell short of action. See our follow-up newsletter (2021
update) with links for
further evidence. We have written to
Cllr Coleman offering to share our research. Research such as this (on Wi-Fi in schools) to
help them meet their responsibilities
to protect the public under the Health and Social Care Act. (See our links page for more information). H&F people have
a proud record of standing up for public health services (opposing hospital
and walk-in centre closures). You can help us by asking your councillors
what they’re doing re: the emerging threat of 5G and related technology. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT |
